WELCOME TO HILLTOP DOG CAMP
Our camp consists of beautiful indoor and outdoor play areas and features almost 30 acres just NE of Austin, near Lexington, Texas, for your dog to romp, play and socialize to their heart’s content!
We’re a family run business and live where we work so that means we are always close by. Your dog will receive exceptional care by our attentive staff, who are trained to be familiar with dog behavior and certified in dog CPR and first aid. Overnight campers will enjoy the security of an in-house team of caring humans while they snooze. Our goal is to make boarding fun by minimizing the stress and anxiety that some dogs experience when they are away from home.
“Pack Boarding” and “In Home Private Rest Areas” are also available options…human love instead of being alone. It’s a no-brainer, Some dogs are more comfortable in traditional private kennel runs, so we have those too! However, ours are designed to be spacious and comfortable in a clean and climate-controlled atmosphere and Kuranda dog cots for comfort! Our kennel runs are indoor with A/C in the summer and heat in the winter…and are connected to private 16’ shaded runs outside so they can enjoy the fresh air at their leisure! All of our campers enjoy structures and supervised recess in the play yards (personality matched with other dogs or by themselves if their owners prefer). We also have a variety of optional enrichment add-ons like adventure walks, training and even pond swim time!
We also offer dog washing, nail trims, ear cleaning, basic brush, a variety of collars and leashes, obedience training and surprises you’ll only find at Hilltop Dog Camp! Your pup will love it…and so will you!
Shuttle services to/from area all around Lexington, even as far as Austin and College Station are available! Regular (discounted) shuttle days to Austin/Round Rock areas are Tuesdays and Thursdays. Alternative days/times can be arranged with advanced notice.
Just a few examples of the Hilltop Dog Camp experience:
Obedience
Even the most well-behaved dogs can benefit from the mental stimulation of obedience training. And any dog trainer will tell you that dogs benefit from structure, and knowing what is expected of them. Hilltop Dog Camp believes balanced training is the best way to go. The positive reinforcement method rewards the dog (by praise, treat or clicker) when desired behavior happens…this shows the dog the positive parameters of behavior. On the flip side, dogs also need to learn what not to do and they learn this through balanced training, good communication and fair consequences. It’s a tried-and-true method which humans, dogs and Hilltop Dog Camp prefer.
We have an awesome array of trainers who can work with puppies and younger dogs who need a little more practice with the basics such as walking on a loose leash, coming on command, “sit” and (implied) “stay.” One thing we know to be true at Hilltop Dog Camp is you CAN teach an old dog new tricks, so we can refer you to a number of trainers based on your dog’s specific needs.
- Exercise – Obviously, dogs need to run, play, splash, and just be a dog. Large outside spaces with real grass, paw friendly synthetic turf, sand, a pond, a creek, plenty of trees for shade, sunshine and friends will wear them out!
- Socialization – Dogs are, by nature, social creatures. Having dog and human friends makes them a better-rounded and happier pet.
- Mental stimulation – Even if your pup just likes to sit and watch, there are plenty of places to rest and watch the shenanigans to keep them mentally active.
- Potty training – Allowing dogs to play and potty outside enforces the training they learned early on.
- Guilt Free– Say good-bye to the look your dog gives when you are too tired or busy to take them for a walk or dog park.
- A Safer Dog Park Option – Let's face it, public dog parks are a cesspool of disease and behavioral nightmares, but here at Hilltop Dog Camp, you have the option of renting acreage as your own private dog park with the peace of mind knowing that your dog(s) can safely explore and romp around. For group play options, all dogs are supervised and healthy, current on shots and get along with others.

Sent our 16 week old golden retriever for puppy camp to learn some manners and help us transition into parenthood with a newborn. Not only did they treat him as a member of their own pack, but went above and beyond to give him a personalized experience where he learned so much. I will only ever board him here in the future and he will definitely be going back for formal obedience training in the future!
While Amari has been in training we went out to visit several times and Katie and Katelyn were always welcoming and happy to show off Amari's progress... Amari will absolutely be back for more training and camping many times in the future!
Great fun for all the dogs! All my dogs absolutely love Hilltop. Everyone gets lots of exercise time and even pond time! I have traveled out of the country for over a month and left my dogs with them knowing Hilltop cares for their every need. They do a great job boarding but the training is exceptional! If you have been struggling with your dog call Hilltop!
We simply can't put into words how awesome Katie is. The love and care that they put into the pups has been evident from the very beginning and we could not possibly be happier... while we are sad when we go to bed and don't have a puppy to cuddle, we will rest easy knowing she is in great hands.
From the very beginning of us getting to know Katie we could tell that she was professional and thorough! Her love for the dogs is unwavering and it shows in the care they receive and the time and energy that she spends with them.
You will not find a better facility for your dogs than Hilltop Dog Camp!! The staff is not only extremely knowledgeable but warm and friendly. They treat each dog as their own pets. With Katie’s vast knowledge of dog behaviors, she keeps the entire facility safe and your dog happy! The facility is a dog heaven, well-kept, and the dogs are first in any decision they make! Please check them out, you will not be disappointed!
